Just thought of creating my first blog on Open source softwares. I am basically a Desktop user in linux. I love linux and want to learn more. I believe there should not be any proprietary softwares to control our computer in the world of open source software. For those who are new to open source softwares please click here, With this Blog i will try my level best to help those people want to get on with Open source but don't know where to start. I will guide all those starter struggler. Here are few things you have to look out for before going for open source.
There are hundreds of Linux Distribution and its very difficult choose one. For a beginners i will advise to use Konoppix which doesn't even required any installation. You can run Complete Operating system from a single CD/DVD. Knoppix comes with hundred of inbuilt applications.
One of my favorite Linux Distribution is PcLinux.
PcLinux is very easy to use and everything (like audio video) works out of box.
I will advice all the novice in linux to try out this distribution and get started.
For people who really want to excel in linux can try out distributions like Fedora, ubuntu or any other debian distro.
